Welcome to my web site Merseybeat Nostalgia. The reason for the site is to say thanks to the groups who provided entertainment for us (then) Merseyside teenagers and to remember the friends, the places and of course the music. There are far to many groups to name in this small site, but they and their music will never be forgotten by us ‘60’s’ teenagers. |

The site includes a mixture of well known 1960’s groups, The Merseybeats, The Mojos, The Searchers and The Fourmost, and the lesser known (outside of Merseyside) groups, Farons Flamingos, The Undertakers, The Dennisons, The Big Three etc., all of whom contributed to the change in British and American popular music that came about in the 1960’s. The site also includes Beryl Marsden, the best solo female singer to (in my opinion) come out of Merseyside. |

The nostalgia ‘bit’ of this site is my memories of the groups, the recordings and the places we visited to see our favorite groups. The friends - Brian, Pete and John, with whom I have now lost touch, and the good times we had at the Litherland Town Hall, St. Luke’s Church Hall, The Teenbeat and the Orrell Park Ballroom. I wonder where you are now? If any of you stumble across this site, please get in touch, in fact, anyone who can tell me where Brian Sugden, Pete Green or John Mc (sadly, I cannot remember John’s last name) are now, I would be very grateful. Brian and John lived opposite Bootle Golf Course, near The Netherton Pub and Pete lived in Bootle. |
